Yesterday I went shopping with a couple of friends, and I’d never been to the one we went to as it’s a fairly new area so it was quite exciting… I just thought I’d share with you what I bought. One quick thing – I’m going to apologise now for the less than perfect photo quality here, I don’t have a flashy camera (or a camera at all for that matter) with a tripod and whatnot or even anyone to take a photo for me, so y’all have to put up with my phone in the mirror shots. I’m sorry.
- Black Skater Dress – £5
Did someone say bargain?! For £5 I couldn’t resist, I could go back and get them in different colours… it’s simple enough that you could wear it as an everyday thing, team it with a cardigan, tights and some pumps and you’ve got a casual outfit, but it could also be dressed up with some jewellery and heels for a dressier look. I did find the sizing in tops comes up slightly small in Primark so I did have to size up. It’s also a little on the see through side, but nothing too major. If you’re quite tall then this dress might not work for you unless you’re comfortable with half your bum being on show, as it does come up rather short, but because I am short, it worked ok.
- Burgundy Lace Skater Dress – £10
This dress is exactly the same cut/shape as the plain black one but a little dressier with the lace overlay and lace sleeves, with a patent belt around the waist. Again, I think it could be dressed up or down depending on where you want to wear it. I think this is a bit longer than the other one, so taller people might be ok with it.
- Berry Knitted Tights – £3
I’ve really wanted some knitted tights like this for ages and Primark is the place to go for them I think. I do actually have a grey pair but they’re a really dark grey and because of this they don’t really go with much. I let Maisie pick this colour for me because I didn’t know which ones to choose, but looking back I’m not entirely sure what I can wear them with. I’ll make something work.
- Basic Long Sleeved Black Top – £3.50
- Black High Waisted Disco Pants – £7
I bought these two for my school dance company costume for The Matrix dance we’re doing. The idea is that we’re showing as little skin as possible and dressed from head to toe in black, with disco pants or wet look leggings. I’m not sure about anyone else but I’ve never been a huge fan of wet look leggings and I think you have to be the right shape to wear them or they look awful. I am not that right shape, and I think these disco pants are quite possibly the most horrible things that have ever been on my body. I’m not even kidding or exaggerating even a little bit, they are the most unflattering things in the world. I think that is all.
- Hair Grips – £1
Primark is the place to go for hair essentials, I’m telling you now. You get a very decent amount for a small price. I’ve needed hair grips for months and haven’t been able to get any anywhere. The Primark hair bands are really good too, you get a pack of 30 for £1 and they’re not like those rubbish cheap ones that snap within a few uses, they’re quite strong and I have thick hair and they’re good for that too.
Total = £29.50
This is definitely the most I’ve ever spent in Primark, I usually have no luck in there whatsoever but yesterday may have just qualified as successful! At the moment I’m thanking Maisie for that, I’ve decided that maybe she is my lucky Primark charm 😉 I really wanted to buy one of those long fluffy jumpers that are really soft, I tried one on but they make me look slighter on the larger side which is never good so I had to pass and put it back.
That’s it! Happy Hump Day guys 🙂
