Dancers Among Us |Dreams That Glitter

I’m pretty sure I’ve briefly mentioned this in the past, but I’m going to write about it again anyway. I remember coming across this website before but I didn’t do anything further than think the photography was pretty cool. But I was in art today and rediscovered Dancers Among Us which is a project of fantastic photography by the wonderful Jordan Matter. He has a collection of photographs of dancers doing extraordinary things in quite simple settings and environments which is quite unusual but I really like the concept of it, that dancers stand out even in every day situations. The photos are beautiful and I’d really like to explore the ideas further and see if I can incorporate them into my own art project.

Me and Maisie were at the studio again today after over a week away! I took my new Bloch Sonatas which I really love, I’m finding pointe work much easier in them than I did in my Freeds and I can’t wait to have a lesson in them! These are some photos from Saturday, taken by Maisie (highstreetspy.wordpress.com) when we were dancing in the studio. We’re taking every opportunity we have to go and practice, we’re going again on Friday… I’m going to my nana’s on Saturday until the following Sunday, which means probably no exercise or dance for a whole week, what am I going to do?!

Review: I Am Number Four|Dreams That Glitter

If you haven’t seen this film, starring Alex Pettyfer and Dianna Agron, then you definitely need to, ok? I’m just watching it again now, (it’s also a brilliant book btw). I only really knew about it because of Dianna, her being one of my idols – I went to see it with her in mind, but I think I would’ve enjoyed it just as much if she wasn’t in it too, if that makes sense? Not sure I would have gone for it as ‘my kind of film’ though.

Every time I watch it I have the real urge to get into photography and start a collection of amazing scrapbook like Sarah’s (Dianna’s character) because they’re amazing, I love her room, how artistic it is and all her photos hanging on the wall, many a scrapbook stored in her room, a secret from the rest of the world, her way of escaping. I just love how creative her character is.

I felt like I needed to attach some pictures to explain what I mean, also to remind myself I guess. Bad quality, because they’re from my tv… but you can see what they are. The last one is my favourite.
